Iran mourns 227 killed in earthquakes

Iran on Sunday stepped up relief operations in shattered villages in its northeast after saying rescue operations were completed following a double earthquake which cost 227 lives and injured 1,380 people.
“Search and rescue operations have ended and we are now working to ensure survivors’ needs in terms of shelter and food,” Interior Minister Moustafa Mohammad-Najjar told state television as he announced the casualty toll..............

Mr latin is not dead

Rumour has it that the famous Nigerian actor Mr Latin is dead but he is not dead. The comedian spoke against the backdrop of  reports  on some  social media networks  on his presumed demise.

Amusan, who expressed surprise at the rumour of his own death, said: “I am hale and hearty, please; help tell the whole world that  I am very much alive.
“In fact, I have just finished some bottles of beer with my friends at Ijaiye Junction when I heard the rumour of my death.
“ I wonder why people will take delight in this kind of false story.  I know my God will not kill me now,” he said.
NAN recalled that the false news of his death was widely relayed on Monday on some social media on  the internet.

Teenage mother abandons baby in church

Asaba—AN unidentified teenage mother has dumped her new-born baby girl in a church, leaving a note behind in which she pleaded with the priest to assume full custody of the child as well as her upkeep as she would return at “the appropriate time” to claim the baby.
