VC described A.B.U as the most accomodating in the country.Support or Oppose

The Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Professor Abdullahi Mustapha, has described the institution as the most accommodating in the country.
Prof Mustapha said as the number one institution in the country, the authorities and staff of ABU will not rest on their oars in making sure that the school maintains its lead and preserves its aims and objectives.
In a statement released by the VC, he reiterated that:
“We are determined to sustain the cardinal principle upon which our university is founded —to impart knowledge and learning to men and women of all races without discrimination on the grounds of race, religion or political beliefs. This principle is enriched in the university law.
“That was what made the university the only true Nigerian institution with staff and students representation from every nook and cranny of the country and other parts of the world.
Jettisoning this principle will only reduce the great ivory tower to a local university, a development which the Sardauna, who, even though cautioned that our character must reflect the needs, the traditions, the social and intellectual heritage of the land in which the institution is situated, will not be happy with us if he were to resurrect and find out that we have negated this principle and instead embrace ethnic and regional chauvinism.”
The varsity Don urged other institutions in the country to emulate that principle as part of efforts to unite the country develop the education sector.
